Keep Trying

A few months ago I was standing in a parking lot with two friends have a quick chat after a meeting one night. One of my friends had just launched a venture in which he was marketing an alcoholic cooler beverage. The other friend who is a very accomplished businessman in his own right said to him that the most important aspect to success is persistent and constant effort. And he's absolutely right.
Just imagine you are renovating a house. At the beginning you'll be full of gusto. Then a few weeks later when the work has become exhausting and tedious, you'll want to slack off. It happens again and again. You'll beat yourself up over it and gain renewed enthusiasm for your goal and work diligently again for a while. The vicious cycle continues over and over taking one step forward and three steps back.
A lot of people do this. It's one of the main reasons people never achieve success. Consistency. You can't give up half way and expect to start where you left off. Well, not most of us. You have to keep on trying and stick it out even when you don't want to. Depends on how bad you want your goal or not. No matter who you tell, you can't lie to yourself. Nobody is with your thoughts 24/7 a day. Only you are. So in the end you're not cheating anyone else but yourself. If it's important to you, it's worth doing.
You may not have all the answers. You may have failed at certain things. That's okay and perfectly normal. All these experiences teaches you to hone your skills, refine your direction, and inspire you to work smarter not harder.
I am blown away how so many people I know would never think of missing a day of work, but will throw their own interests under the bus because they're too tired or whatever reason they can come up with. Each day you spend working for someone else is a day you spend making another person's dream come true. I don't know. To me that sounds CRAZY!
If there is a dream inside you that you want to live I'm here to tell you to keep trying. Never stop. Find a way. It takes perseverance. It takes discipline. Nothing will every come without risk. Aren't you worth it? I think you are. No matter what anyone may say to you, just keep on trying. You've got NOTHING to lose.
