How To Change Everything!

For most of us, there's a state of stress or distress we've come to call normal. A humming of the cells. A vibration of the body. A rant in the mind that undermines our sense of well-being and perpetrates great suffering.
This may have begun as early as the womb, if our mothers were under duress. Or we may have evolved here, slowly and over time, as life forgot we were the embodiment of the Divine, God's gorgeous gift, and we slumped into believing what we were told or assumed about ourselves-stupid, not good enough, ugly, unworthy...
We're all taught these lies in one way or another. And we all suffer for them.
These messages become a loop in our thinking and we learn to contract, distract, withdraw and withhold ourselves from life, love, because we believe we're undeserving.
Our nervous systems get amped and over-stimulalted, and fight or flight becomes our way of life.
We believe that this is just the way things are.
Until we discover the possibility that this isn't actually so.
And decide to do something about it.
I like to say, "Just because a thought is loud and repetitive, doesn't mean it's true."
So, like the loving, soothing mother many of us never had, it is our job to calm and contain the over-stimulated nervous system, the frantic inner voice, to bring ourselves, slowly and gently, to a place of greater peace.
How? By speaking kindly, and feeding ourselves, our cells, with love.
I often show my clients the photos of Dr. Masaru Emoto, the Japanese scientist who studied the effects of energy on water. Dr. Emoto took jars of water and put words or photos on them, or played music to them. He then took a drop of that water and froze it into an ice crystal. The photographs are phenomenal.
The water that had love, beauty, kindness broadcast into it turned into gorgeous 'snowflakes'. The water that had anger, meanness, chaos broadcast in turned into black, ugly swirls.
Our bodies are eight-five percent water. Just as is the planet. Each cell is a little water balloon. That inhabits, incubates and demonstrates what we are broadcasting.
And, anything broadcast out, is also broadcast in. We feel and receive whatever we are projecting toward another.
If we want to heal ourselves and become happy, we need to change the channel and broadcast beautiful sound, vibration, thought into ourselves.
The good news is that we just have to be aware and attend to this in the next moment. Are we being kind or abusive? Are we sending snowflakes or black swirls?
A simple way to practice this-whether you feel like it or not-is to stop, close your eyes, put your hand somewhere in the center of your body and begin telling yourself, "I love you." Simple as that. Simple, but not necessarily easy.
Especially if the habit has been unkindness. Most of us are very good at some version of 'I hate myself.' But it's time now for this to stop.
It's time to begin infusing our bodies, minds and energy fields with love and compassion, kindness and care.
It's time to change the world, one world at a time. Beginning with 'me'.
So, hand on heart. Eyes closed. A gentle "I love you" to begin. And if there's a place inside you that's screaming, 'No, I can't! I will not do this!' see if you can love that. See if you can love yourself through the pain and patterning of your own unkindness toward yourself.
Doing this will begin to change everything.
Changing yourself, your cells, and ultimately your life and the world, one "I love you" at a time.
(With Gratitude to the teachings of Matt Kahn)

SUCCESS - By The Letters

Although much has been written about success or what it means to be successful, the concept still remains nebulous to most, probably because it means so many different things to different people. The vast majority of people claim that they strive for success, but they remain uncertain what it means, and what they need to do if they really wish to be successful. Since I believe that mnemonics are often one of the best and most memorable ways of remembering nearly everything, SUCCESS should also be considered in this manner. S is for each of our need to search inwardly and outwardly; then we must understand both our personal needs as well as others (and how they best work synergistically); we must care deeply about whatever we feel more relevant and/ or important; we must pursue creating something both unusual and unique; consider being empathetic and not simply being sympathetic when others could use your concern; always remain solution - oriented; and consistently maintain your strength of character.
1. How can anyone be successful if he doesn't truly understand his needs, and can't objectively search inwardly, evaluating our strengths and weaknesses, effectively utilizing our strengths while addressing and working on improving upon any areas of weakness.
2. Success is not something we seek, but rather that comes about because of what we do, and not simply because we want to be successful. This requires both understanding as well as focusing on need.
3. How can anyone even think about potentially achieving success unless he cares deeply for others, always emphasizing value and quality? Unless an individual respects himself and the efforts he takes, he can never feel that he truly is a success!
4. Success only comes about when one decides to be himself, and doing something unique and unusual that positively impacts others. Invariably, each of us is able to proceed more effectively, positively, and in a better frame of mind, when we can feel proud that we do something that enhances those around us.
5. When we feel empathy for others, we place ourselves in their shoes, and attempt to view things through their eyes. This intensifies our ability to bond with others and relate better, because the more objective we can be, the better we can perform. Contrast this to mere sympathy, which is simply going through the motions and feeling sorry for others in a somewhat aloof perspective.
6. Do you focus on what you perceive of as the problems, challenges or obstacles, or do you look at how to transform these in a positive and productive manner, and act in a solution - oriented approach? Only when we seek ways to do things rather than reasons that we can't, do we optimize and potentiate out actions.
7. As in most things that are done, the most essential component is our own strength of character. Do we possess inner strength, persistence, persevere when others often give up, and maintain our positive mental attitude?
Success is never either automatic or guaranteed. However, if we proceed by the letters, our chances to succeed, and provide value to humanity and please ourselves, is truly enhanced.

3 Important Personal Development Aspects to Consider for Self Growth

Many people aim to make daily self growth one of their lifelong goals, because they see the need to grow in all aspects of their lives. However, what's sad is that many don't consider the 3 important personal development aspects needed for healthy self growth.
Yes, you heard me right. Self growth is important, but the aspects that you aim to grow in have to be right in order for it to be effective in your life. And I believe this is true for anyone.
So what are the 3 important personal development aspects? They are:
The First Aspect - Improving Your Self-Awareness
Self-awareness simply means being aware of yourself. That includes your strengths, flaws, gifting and more. And that comes first before the other personal development aspects because without knowing yourself fully, you won't be able to know how to proceed with your self growth plans.
The truth is, nobody knows you better than yourself, and if you're not sure about your strength, weaknesses and more, you can take a piece of paper and jot them down,
It's important you don't rush this through, because you want to make sure you got them covered as much as possible without missing them out.
Also, some people I've counselled say they don't have any strengths or gifting. I can tell you that's totally untrue. It's different for everyone, and there must be something you're better at than others.
So take your time to do this to get a clear picture of yourself. But remember, don't rush this through.
The Second Aspect - Knowing and Building Your Own Identity
Everyone is different, and each individual will only thrive if they know what they want. And knowing what you want begins with first knowing your own identity. And that's the second personal development aspect for self growth.
From my experience, I know that if you rely on other people for your identity, you'll be lost and you can't achieve proper personal growth.
Find out what makes you, you. Don't copy the way others talk and behave just because they seemed to be well liked by others. Discover how you talk and behave, and then work on improving your own identity.
I can promise you this. If you can be the best you, you will be well liked by others, despite your identity. People want to experience who you really are, and when that happens, you'll be surrounded by people who will love to hang out with you, and you'll be able to develop your character further.
How's that for self growth?
The Final Aspect - Discovering and Developing Your Talents
This final personal development aspect deals with talents that you have, not talents that others have but you don't.
Why do I say that? Because if you admire others for a talent that they have but you don't, you might be tempted to pursue that talent though you don't have it. That will sabotage your self growth, so be careful.
Everyone has a God-given talent, including you. And for you to have a healthy self growth, develop those God-given talents. You'll realize that you'll be able to develop your talents much faster and much more easily than others because it's God-given.
Sometimes, it takes a while before you discover what your talents are, so don't be afraid to try new things. You might just discover what your talents are if you choose to be open about discovering new things.
So there you have it, the 3 personal development aspects for effective self growth. Keep them in mind and remember to include them in your self growth plan for a healthy development of your life.
And by the way, self growth becomes much easier when you learn how to master your thinking.

This Is Hopeless Unless You Realize Your Potential

Life is hard, isn't it? It just seems like there is always something to challenge you, a setback, a disappointment, a frustration. Maybe you are having a mid-life crisis, or feeling burnout at work. It is so easy to get discouraged. It is so tempting to give up, to settle into a state of hopelessness, helplessness, or frustration.
Many people do give up. They live lives, as Thoreau said, of "quiet desperation." They spend their days at a boring job that doesn't pay enough, come home, have a beer or a glass wine, watch television until it is time for bed, and then get up the next day and do it all again. This is hopeless.
But if you were willing to settle for that, I doubt you would be reading this article. You are feeling called to something more. You are sensing there is more to you yet to be born. You are open to making some new choices, some new decisions, taking a few risks.
Why is that? Why would you want to risk? What is it that is calling to you? Maybe it is a dream, or a vision, or a desire that has been born in your heart to be more than who you are today.
The truth is there is only one you. In this world of seven billion people there is no one else quite like you, no one else with your particular gifts, no one else with your particular way of seeing and experiencing the world. Did you ever think about that?
If you should die without realizing your full potential there will never be another chance for the world to receive the gifts that you came here to give. No one else that can take your place. This is a huge responsibility for you to bear on your tiny shoulders, but there it is. There is only one you.
So what can you do to realize your full potential? Here are three suggestions:
1. Listen to the still small voice inside. Many people are too busy in "doing-ness"... to do lists, goals, appointments, volunteer activities, things that keep you going non-stop. It is easy to forget to take time to listen to the inner voice, that inner guidance, those little suggestions that pop into your mind from who-knows-where. But in listening, you may hear the voice of your destiny calling to you.
2. Pay attention to your heart-felt desires, to what you feel passion for. I believe your heart-felt desires are meant to guide you. They are there for a reason. They are a little bit like the yellow brick road was for Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. The yellow brick road took her for a real adventure: excitement, jeopardy, peril, and ultimately success! And along the way, she become wiser, more heart-centered, and courageous!
3. Take a risk. When you feel hopeless, or feel like a failure in life, it is because you are telling yourself that the past equals the future. But that is only true when you make the same choice tomorrow that you made today. Take a risk, make a new choice, and watch what happens! Your potential is right there, waiting for you to claim it.

How to Confront Your Fear and Conquer It

My former career in the legal system brought me into contact with people who were hopelessly buried beneath layers of fear. Fear is often the consequence of a negative experience. A traumatic event is an extreme negative experience. For people who have experienced trauma, the phrase "negative experience" does not begin to describe the intense emotional pain that comes with such an event. Some unfortunate souls develop what psychologists call post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This medical condition is incapacitating. It can produce panic attacks, which are experienced by the traumatized person as symptoms similar to a heart attack. Needlessly to say, PTSD is debilitating and can lead personal dysfunction.
Fear, by its nature, is a difficult emotion for anyone to emotionally process. There will be times when we encounter people whose expression of fear may seem unreasonable to us. Please understand that these terrified people are unable to cope with the object of their fear. Many serious phobias arise out of fear. Someone once told me about a person who has or had a fear of turtles. This unknown person's phobia amused me. I said to myself, "How can anyone be afraid of a turtle." I jokingly thought "Maybe they are teenage mutant ninja turtles. Those turtles can be scary." Apparently turtles bother some people, just like snakes and spiders. Anything at all can produce fear in the mind of a human. All phobias and fears are valid. Take a look at the top ten most common phobias:
- Arachnophobia -The fear of spiders.
- Ophidiophobia - The fear of snakes.
- Acrophobia - The fear of heights.
- Agoraphobia - The fear of situations in which escape is difficult
which escape is difficult.
- Cynophobia - The fear of dogs.
- Astraphobia - The fear of thunder and
lightning.
- Trypanophobia - The fear of injections.
- Social Phobias - The fear of social
situations.
- Pteromerhanophobia - The fear of flying.
- Mysophobia - The fear of germs or dirt.
As you can see there are many kinds of phobias and trauma that have their roots in fear. Fear is difficult to remove without professional help. It is my personal opinion that traditional talk therapy is of little use in helping a person escape the clutches of fear. No matter what kind of trauma a person has experienced, allowing a mental health counselor to validate your feelings is extremely ineffective. It may feel good, but it does nothing to help a person regain control of his or her life.
I know several anxiety-ridden people who have paid substantial amounts of money, to hopefully well-intentioned psychotherapists, to listen to them express their fears for over a decade, without making any progress toward their recovery. To be fair, there are excellent therapists who know how to successfully work with people's fear-based anxieties. If you like the feeling of talk-based therapy, then please disregard what I said. In most situations, there's more than one path to a successful outcome.
Fear is a part of the human condition. Fear serves a purpose for humans. It can keep people from getting into trouble. It's supposed to make humans think twice before engaging in an activity that might be detrimental to their well-being. This is why civilized societies have judicial systems. Criminal Statutes have consequences and punishments incorporated into their language to deter crime. Unfortunately there are many hardened offenders who have no remorse. Some people display no outward fear. They choose to hide it from themselves.
People with phobias and trauma, and other fear-based issues create an altered reality to deal with their emotional pain. This is especially true of trauma victims. Childhood trauma can permanently damage a person to the point that he or she may never recover from their experience(s). It is regrettable that these unfortunate abuse victims cannot cope with the painful reality of their situation.
If you are a person living in fear or have recurring dreams and memories of a traumatic event, please understand that you are creating an altered reality that allows this to situation occur. You alone are responsible for your fear. You may or may not be partially responsible for the original event that triggered that fear-based reaction. Fear rarely manifests externally. If you are being held captive by a crazed lunatic, then this article will not help you. I am not being sarcastic in saying that.
Most of our fear is created by our powerful imagination. The term imagination is misleading in the way that society uses it. The strange characters that interact with us in our dreams and imagination are very real. This is a metaphysical explanation. No one with trauma wants to consciously acknowledge this principle. And for a very good reason. It makes their fear that much more real. However, it actually makes no difference. Fear is fear.
Fear itself is a conscious entity. It feeds off your emotions. It is attracted to your emotions. You are making a home for it. It will not leave until you make it go. The fear entity takes on whatever dreadful form is necessary to produce the emotional reaction in you it desires.
This concept is related to teachings of the law of attraction theorists. I'm referring to the widely accepted principle that thoughts manifest into reality. The notion that thought forms are endowed with a vital essence is also nothing new to metaphysical literature. Past-life regression therapists, future regression therapists, and age regression therapists, use hypnosis to help their clients resolve personal conflict. They treat "imaginary" characters as real in order to make the therapy session effective for the client. I'm not sure how many hypnotherapists focus on the reality of the client's tormenter(s). This is the metaphysical aspect of this type of therapy, which is why I focus on it. Hypnotherapists are concerned with the practical side of this phenomenon and the positive results that it produces in their clients.
I feel that it is far better to confront your fears, than run from it. Overcoming our fear leads to personal growth. It is good for us to face our nightmares. Again, I recommend doing this with the support of an experienced hypnotherapist. Not everyone will benefit from confrontational therapy. There are also a number of excellent psychotherapists in this country and abroad who are experienced in helping their clients engage in an introspective examination of their thoughts and emotions to unearth the cause of their fear. This milder therapeutic approach requires a substantial investment in time, money, and a successful outcome is dependent on the willingness of the client to actively participate in his or her recovery.
You have the power to stop your fear in its tracks. If you are experiencing recurring visions of being attacked by a known or unknown assailant, then you will need to do the following. Realize that you have the ability to make this person, creature, dream character, apparition, phantom, or other entity stop their harassment. You have the ability to control your nightmare. Do not let your fears over-take you. Rather than running from the object of your fear, face it with both feet planted in the ground. Remember that you are in control of the situation. Nothing bad can happen to you. Do not play the victim role. You are only allowing the situation to continue by calling yourself a victim. Fight back. I guarantee you the fear entities will run from you. They are bullies. Once you stand up to them, they will go away. Bullies only pick on people who consent to their cruelty. Say the following to your fear-based characters. NO! I said stop! Go away!
Many years ago, my wife and I lived in an old house which was host to the most bizarre paranormal manifestations. This residential dwelling could be likened to a classic haunted house. We were witness to a number of supernatural events while living there. There is one experience that I feel would reinforce what I am trying to say.
At night we would hear scratching noises. We determined to our satisfaction that these sounds were not coming from our dogs. My wife and I both believed this noise to be coming from an unseen being. We came to this conclusion because of the other bizarre experiences we had in this worn out dwelling. The sound of claws scratching wood went on for quite some time and affected our sleep. One night, my wife who was particularly irritated and tired, said to the entity in a firm and sharp tone "I said stop." I could never describe or imitate exactly what her voice sounded like. She wasn't yelling. The tone of her voice was the kind a mother uses on her disorderly child to let him or her know that she means what she is saying. This technique worked perfectly, we never heard the scratching sounds again. My wife is a good witness for supernatural encounters for the simple reason that she does not have a passion for it.
I want to point out that this annoying entity was probably a human spirit as opposed to an evil spirit. Dark entities are more persistent than common spirits. They all have inflated egos however, which is why they are bullies.
In my case, I have been pursued by dark spirits for many years. These days, psychic (I am not fond of this word) practitioners refer to them as negative energies. In any case, they are malicious, malevolent entities. My sense is that they are a remnant from my past life as Arthur Edward Waite. That information is not especially important to this article. What I want my readers to know is that I too was stricken with anxiety I first became aware of them. This was several years ago. They have followed me through a number of moves since then. I have become accustomed to their occasional presence.
On one occasion (about a year ago), I sensed the presence of evil in my new home a few days after I moved in. Evil has a distinct quality. I cannot describe the sense that alerts me to their presence. I became concerned about their presence, so I asked my Spiritualist pastor for advice on removing them. She said I should burn sage. Sage is supposed to drive out negative energy. I wrote a banishing script like kind used by occult practitioners centuries ago. I proceeded to burn the sage, and with a white candle I walked through the house reading the script. I was a bit brazen in the way that I spoke to the dark spirits. I forcefully told them that I am the boss and I insisted that they leave immediately. Unfortunately the sage had no effect on the dark spirits.
A week later I was meditating in the dark on the edge of my bed. Suddenly I felt something moving underneath my left eye. I have never felt anything like it before. I could only describe it as a bug crawling on my face. I said "Cut it out!", and I pushed my arms out at the space in front of me. I went to the bathroom, looked in the mirror, and observed that I had a red scratch under my left eye. It was a superficial mark. I asked my wife if she saw the scratch. She did and confirmed that it was not there prior to my meditation.
What this means for the subject of this article is that these evil spirits are bullies. They were trying to send me a message that I am subordinate to them. They see me as a lesser being. I disregarded their warning. The worst thing that a person can do with these foul creatures is show fear. I instead ignored them and went about my business.
The evil spirits did not make another move until about two months ago at my new residence (by now I realized that moving does not rid one of spirits). Bullies will often come back to retest their targets. One night I lying on my bed meditating with my eyes closed. Through my eye lids I observed an apparition floating on the ceiling. The vision was unclear, but could I see ribs and loose garments. It seemed to be floating on waves. I jumped up and waved my fists at it. That event effectively ended my meditation.
A few days later I was thinking about these beings and how I feel they have no power. A thought came to me from what I felt was outside of myself. It said "Do you remember when you were eighteen and you awoke from a sound sleep unable to breath? We were responsible for that." This is a true experience I had when I was a teenager. Mother and brother came into my bedroom alarmed by what they saw. I fell unconscious on the floor for a few seconds. I consulted with a physician, but he was unable to determine the cause. I have not had a similar experience since then.
These dark spirits have physically assaulted me and threatened my life. I continue to defy them in spite of their intimidation. I am aware that it will do them little good to kill me, as I am a spirit myself, and I cannot die. So their threats are in vain. I'm sure they know this.
I may as well continue my discussion about the dark spirits since I am on the subject. There are some myths about demonic possession and spirit possession in general. Possessions by evil spirits are relatively uncommon. At least in most industrialized nations. In some cultures, people are open to possession. Who really wants an evil spirit taking possession of their body? A person must submit to the will of the spirit in order for the supernatural possession to occur. This means that the dark spirits or other entities must have the consent and cooperation of the host, or the possession will not take place. Evil spirits know who the suitable candidates are. They are opportunistic and in search of easy prey. Spirits also require a kind of technical expertise to make a classic possession work. Most malevolent spirits lack the metaphysical knowledge required to pull off the kind of dramatic possessions seen on television.
My point in relating my experiences with dark entities is that I want my readers to understand that backing down from a bully will only make your situation worse. In fact, showing weakness only encourages the dream characters, spirits, phantoms, and demons to continue their harassment. It's important to stand up to these nonphysical beings and show them you are not going to take it.
Self-defense instructors teach women to yell, scream, kick, bite and get the attention of others when they are attacked by a stranger. An attacker will usually run away rather than risk getting caught. Victims are people who submit to the aggression of bullies. Similarly a burglar will avoid breaking into a house with dogs. Chances are good that there are a lot other houses in the same neighborhood without pets. Criminal offenders sometimes use a part of their brain that requires rational thinking. They just need to put it to better use.

The 7 Essential Elements of an Effective Subconscious Belief Change System

It's pretty much common knowledge now that if you want to change your results, you need to change your beliefs.
In fact, it's become such common knowledge that it's almost cliché.
And there are a lot of ways that people suggest to change beliefs. And many well-intentioned people are doing those things, but often get frustrated and even cynical when they don't get results. I've seen many people try modality after modality and finally give up thinking that "belief change" simply doesn't work.
This breaks my heart. Because not all belief change systems are created equal. Some are more effective than others. The biggest difference is that most belief change systems focus on your conscious beliefs versus your subconscious beliefs, and don't have a proven, direct, verifiable way to change subconscious beliefs. Why this is important is because there are critical differences between conscious beliefs versus subconscious beliefs. The most notable is the processing speed and capacity. The conscious mind processes an average of 2000 bits of information/sec. But the subconscious mind processes an average of 4 Billion bits of information/sec. That means that 99.99995% of the power of your mind (and what you manifest as results) is driven by your subconscious mind and beliefs.
So, to say that the conscious mind is just the tip of the iceberg is an understatement!
Therefore it's critical to get your subconscious beliefs in alignment with what you say you want to manifest. When you don't do this, it feels like you're working against yourself, trying too hard, sabotaging yourself, not getting ahead, frustrated, overwhelmed, etc.
If you want to become an unstoppable manifesting machine, here are the
7 Essential Elements of an Effective Subconscious Belief Change System:
1. Right Overall Goal: You've heard the saying "Be careful what you wish for... because you just might get it". It's essential to do proper goal setting for the subconscious mind, not just the conscious mind. Not only to make sure that you clarify your goal in the language that the subconscious mind understands, but also to make sure that when you get it, you'll be delighted with the result!
2. Right Communication with Subconscious Mind: It's essential to have a clear, accurate, reliable, and verifiable way to communicate directly with the subconscious mind. Otherwise, you're just hoping, wishing, and guessing!
3. Right Beliefs to support Overall Goal: To fully reprogram your subconscious mind, you need to have a way to do two things:
  • Install positive, supportive beliefs
  • Uninstall negative, limiting beliefs
4. Right Order: When you identify and change the highest priority subconscious beliefs first, you actually need to do less belief change work and you get results faster!
5. Right Permission: The 3 parts to this step are critically important and are missing from most change modalities.
  • Safe & appropriate - to make sure it's in your highest and best good to do the change and that your body/mind system can handle the change
  • Right capacity & amount - How much change can be done at once
  • Right processing speed & change gradient - How fast can it be done
6. Right Change Tool or Change Modality: Since there are so many modalities to choose from, it's essential to know exactly, specifically, and precisely that you're using the right one to change your subconscious beliefs - otherwise, you're just guessing and hoping that the one you choose works
7. Right Verification of Completion: In addition to #6 above, it's also important to have a verifiable way to know when you're done with the change work and you can move on to something else!
  • For each Belief: Different beliefs need different processing time, so it's important to know if you did the change process correctly or long enough.
  • For each Overall Goal: There are often many beliefs that need to be reprogrammed in order for you to manifest your desired result. It's important to have a systematic way to know if you got them all.
An effective subconscious belief change system must follow all of the above 7 steps. Does your method of subconscious belief change have them all? If so, congratulations! If not, I invite you to learn more about the Accelerated Change Template (ACT)™ Belief Change System.

Five Formulas for Committing to Success!

1. Clear vision + Intention + Purpose + Focus = Success!  A vision is many things:  the original blueprint of the successful outcome you desire, a thought picture turned into visual action, a full expression of you!  If you are given a vision, then it is within your power to make it happen, if you choose.  You would not have been given the vision without the ability to make it come true.  Visions are so powerful, it is essential that you know exactly what you are visioning and why.  Intention and purpose are partners.  Your purpose, or mission, must also be very clear and firm.  Your integrity is bound closely with this pair.  If it is your intention to truly make your dreams materialize, then a commitment must be made to focus on the specific outcome you desire.  Goal planning works well for focus.  Make your goals realistic, specific and have a definite timetable for meeting your objectives.
2. Authenticity + Passion + Commitment = Success!  Being authentic  means that the real you is showing up all the time - in words, thoughts and actions.  First - you are true to yourself above all.  You are dedicated to knowing what you are all about - your integrity, passion, strengths, honesty and reliability. Knowing your values and acting in alignment with them are crucial to your authenticity.  Passion is what stirs from within that motivates you - inspires you to get up each morning, eagerly, to continue working on a job or project that excites you to want to do more.  Passion is the unique message that you want to bring to the world.  Commitment is a "can-do" attitude.  You want to accomplish something so intensely that you are willing to use whatever resources of time and energy to make it so!   You have an un-abiding passion to stay committed to your project until it is complete.
3. Spiritual Practice + Flow = Success!   A spiritual connection is essential for the unlimited and energetic flow in moving forward on your journey to self-commitment and success.  Webster defines 'spirit' as a "person's essential nature, an emotional state characterized by vigor and animation, strong loyalty or dedication."  Spiritual practices may include everything from organized religion to pagan ritual and ceremony.  Since there is no one universal definition that fits all, one must explore and define his or her own description.  How does your spiritual path make a difference, not only in your own life, but how might it connect to a global flow of energy? Your personal definition of spirit is one of your own making, touching the honesty of your own soul.  You get to choose how you wish to walk in this world and how you want to be connected to a higher source.  A strong spiritual practice allows you to flow with a vibrational frequency that will energize and ground you on the 'success' journey.
4.  Energy + Expectations + Perseverance = Success!  Being energetic and creating reserves of energy are essential for success.  If your energy is depleted, you do not have the stamina to carry out the plans for your success.  One way to create energy is by taking extremely good care of yourself - even being selfish with your needs!  If you support a healthy, energetic, life-affirming style, than you can continue working towards the expectations you have for yourself.  One way to identify whether or not your expectations are realistic is to take a piece of paper and make two columns.  On the left side, write your expectation.  On the right side, write how you might accomplish that.  You do have the ability to reach your own expectations, and each one of them needs its own plan.  When you look at the columns, you may recognize that some of the expectations are not realistic and that in order for you retain your energy and persevere to the final outcome, the items may need to be adjusted.  Perseverance is continuing firmly on your path, regardless of unexpected challenges. If you believe in yourself, and are committed to your processes, you will solve every conceivable quandary or roadblock that appears.  You know what the rewards will be if you persevere with your plan.
5.  Strong Mission Statement + Plan of Action + Focus = Success! Your mission in life is simply your purpose - and your purpose, your mission.  You've heard the saying, "If you don't know where you're going, that's exactly where you'll end up - nowhere!"  Mission statements act as a rudder for your entrepreneurial-ship. When you know exactly what you want and how you're going to get there, you can make better decisions along the way knowing that all of your steps must support the mission.  If questions arise and you're not sure of the answer, or direction, look to your mission statement to see if it supports the quandary.  OK, everything is in place: your vision is clarified, you're feeling passionate about the path you're on, you are connected to your own flow, you're energized and focused, your mission is clear and NOW - you're ready to execute the "plan"!  Plans of action do not have to be ten pages long.  Your plan is whatever you want it to be - however, you must have one if you want to proceed firmly on your way and reach the pinnacle of your success.  A simple plan can consist of lists: i.e. your business name and legal entity (LLC, C or S Corp, sole proprietor etc.), accountant (essential for cash/flow analyses), your mission, administrative needs, budget, competitor research, services you offer, advisory team members...and so forth.  There are hundreds of books on the market to help you specifically with business plans. The goal is to move into action at whatever pace you choose to set and keep a steady course to completion. Oh yes, focus again!  You can have it all - one focused step a time!

Break the Rules to Make the Most Out of Your Opportunities

When asked what they are learning, most young people will make an unpleasant face. Even those who are enjoying themselves will often pretend otherwise. A youthful ideal for many is to float along without appearing to have any cares... even if that's not the case.
Underneath seeming to be carefree, some younger people are carefully observing the "successful adults" and following whatever they do. When that happens, the results can be as counterproductive as when children mimic monkeys at the zoo.
Such conformity reminds me of a story about a guild of assassins. New assassins were told a few of the rules that would ensure success. If they applied those lessons well, the young assassins would be promoted to a higher level, and some more secret rules would be disclosed. This process lasted for several years. When the learners reached the highest level, the head assassin would calmly share the final rule, "Follow no rules."
Rules are often nothing more than ways to avoid big mistakes while mastering a task, an activity, a role, or a career. With enough experience, other considerations can be brought to bear so that greater accomplishments occur.
Most business people would be much better served by taking the perspective of the expert in questioning "rules" from the beginning. In the process, the worst that can occur is that a better understanding of the reasoning behind the rule will be gained.
Here are three questions you should answer:
1. Where are "rules" keeping attractive opportunities at arm's length?
2. Why haven't you discarded such "rules"?
3. How can you make better decisions, including knowing when to "break" the rules?
Let me provide examples of how some successful business people have answered each of these questions, beginning with where "rules" are keeping attractive opportunities at arm's length. In this regard, I'm reminded of Sir Richard Branson, who didn't like going to school as a teenager.
Sir Richard was much more excited about becoming a publisher of a national newspaper, Student. So he dropped out of school to start his astonishingly successful business career.
While the rule that almost all parents proclaim is that there's no success without a good education, for some few highly talented entrepreneurs that rule doesn't apply. They learned more by entering the school of "hard knocks" while they built businesses, a route that also worked well for Bill Gates (Microsoft) and Michael Dell (Dell).
Such an action naturally raises the question of when is the right time to make such a switch. While Sir Richard dropped out of the equivalent of high school in the United Kingdom, both Gates and Dell attended some college before making the shift. Some highly successful entrepreneurs didn't get their starts until long after they finished all the formal education they thought they could use.
There may be reasons to get experience that can be applied in a different way, such as by studying how larger organizations operate before developing a competing model to replace them. Thus, the highly educated founders of Intel Corporation worked at a pioneering semiconductor company, Fairchild, before launching first a semiconductor memory business and later a microprocessor.
By the time they were running Intel, CEO Andy Grove was proclaiming, Only the Paranoid Survive. That's certainly not a lesson he picked up in graduate school. Since then, many entrepreneurs have adopted Grove's new "rule."
To help you better understand when to break the rules, I decided to ask Alan Guinn, a well-respected academic and entrepreneur, to comment. Here is what Alan observed:
"Having worked in both large corporations and consulted with smaller companies -- having worked with start-ups and mergers/acquisitions, I have gained knowledge and experiences that can help others avoid making the same mistakes that I and others have. That is an immensely valuable asset to be able to tap into, I believe, and I enjoy being able to share that knowledge and experience.
"By drawing on what more experienced people have learned about when the rules do and don't apply, younger people can move forward into taking the right chances at the best times.
"They need to be inquisitive, and not just rely on what one person has to say. Check around and test what you hear, and you won't go far wrong."
Let me leave you with one assignment for today: Start checking out a rule that you should probably be breaking. You'll be glad that you did.

Two Simple and Easy Strategies to Improve Your Life Success

In my last article I discussed the absolute necessity of taking personal responsibility for your thoughts, feelings, and above all your actions. Your actions bring your results. All the knowledge in the world cannot help you if you do not act upon it. In this article I will discuss two simple and easy "things to do," which, if done, I can guarantee you, will improve your life. They are not time-consuming or difficult. They cost nothing and can be instantly implemented into your life.
RESPONSIBILITY EXERCISE:
Taking personal responsibility is one thing. Remembering to take it for yourself in the heat of everyday interactions is quite something else. Here is what you can do. Take a piece of (A4) paper and in thick black magic marker write "I AM RESPONSIBLE" on it and hang it up on your bedroom wall next to the door. Every morning when you get up and even before you go to the bathroom you will see "I AM RESPONSIBLE." The second half of the exercise is simply to think "for my actions". Now, looking at "I AM RESPONSIBLE" is passive. You simply look at the words and let them register in your mind. Thinking "for my actions" is active. Every time you go into your bedroom look at your piece of paper on the wall. See the words and think "for my actions." Think "for my actions." Think "for my actions."
After about two weeks you will see real results. Even when you are in an uncomfortable situation, dealing with an uncomfortable person, you become aware of "for my actions." The first time I experienced this awareness was quite invigorating. I was aware of being in the situation but I was also detached from it. It was a blessed feeling of freedom. Knowing that I am responsible for my actions freed me from having to react to the situation and made me able to respond to it. Needless to say, what could have become a problem resolved itself before it became a problem.
Before I leave this theme, however, there is one point I wish to make perfectly clear. There came a point in our discussion where this gentleman made a rather derogatory remark. Actually, it was a roundabout insult. My first feeling was to defend myself or attack his position. This was my first feeling, but, then came this moment of "blessed freedom" as I saw that reacting to his comment would bring an end to our discussion. I saw that acting out my anger to his comment was not necessary and that acting peacefully actually gave me the possibility to feel at peace. I write this to let you know that this is not some kind of magic, but, rather a way to freedom. As this idea of "being responsible for my actions" has taken root in me I find it easier to control myself and therefore the situations in which I find myself. Try it. Practice it.
THE SMILE EXERCISE:
After getting up and reminding yourself that you are responsible for your actions for that day there is a one-minute exercise, that, if indulged in, will truly change the character of your life.
First: be alone. If you live in a family situation, or with other people, find a place where you can be alone, even if you must lock yourself in the bathroom for one minute. Now that you are alone: smile. That's it. Smile. You don't have to think anything, say anything, or do anything.
Just Smile. Personally, I explored the feelings of my face muscles and the effect of smiling on my eye muscles. Just smile, for one minute without stopping. At first, one minute is a long time, but, in a very short time it is nothing. This exercise is such fun you will want to do it more times throughout the day. It is important that you are alone. You must smile by and for yourself. My favorite place is when I am alone in the car stopped at a red light. It brings a very relaxed feeling and stress seems to evaporate as the mist does when the morning sun warms the earth.I know that this sounds too simple to have any impact, but I can attest to the fact that it has had a profound effect on my life. Try it. It only costs you one minute a day.
Life is an inner experience. The world is not as it is. The world is as you think it is. These two simple and easy exercises are like a doorway to opening your inner world.
May peace be with you.

Dropout's Guide to Self Discipline and Success

Dropping out of school can be a tough decision to make, and I am not qualified to tell you whether you should or should not drop out of school. I have no bias either way because in my opinion everyone can achieve whatever they set their minds to without the need to go to school at least right now. Although I am not recommending you drop out of school, if you do make that decision, there are a few things you need to think about before you make the final leap.
The greatest challenge most dropouts face is self motivation or self discipline, meaning they have a hard time getting up and chasing after their dreams without someone making them do it. After years of schooling, most of us are used to having our feet to the fire and if we don't do as directed, we get in some kind of trouble and consequences are almost immediate.
In the real world, no one will make you pay for your procrastination and laziness right away. The consequences usually creep up on you, so before you do decide whether to drop out or not you have to think about if you will be able to keep yourself motivated and inspired to take the actions needed to still be successful.
Here are a couple of tips to help you remain motivated and keep you headed toward your dreams if you do decide to dropout. This advice is also applicable to students and graduates.
  1. Find and Spend time on hobbies: Find your hobbies or things you enjoy doing and stick to them, working to get better and better. No matter how silly or simple the hobby might be consider it practicing the discipline and consistency needed to work on the things you may not like doing so much without someone telling you to.

  2. Seek out Inspiration: Find the people who've accomplished great things that you look up to, and read their autobiographies. Get in the habit of watching or reading the life stories of celebrities or highly successful people whom can serve as virtual role models for you.

  3. Join Activity groups: Don't just get cornered in your own little view of reality, make it a habit to seek out new activities and making friends that expose you to new ideas and ways of looking at life. Find groups on meetup.com based around the things you're interested in.
As a dropout, although you may have a lot of free time and the freedom to direct what you spend your time doing, this is not an easier path to success, but if you can master yourself and learn the things that motivate you and keep you productive, you will be far closer to achieving financial independence than any student or graduate who hasn't learned this.

5 Entrepreneur Secrets

Successful entrepreneurs will tell you that hard work, patience and luck got them to where they are today. There is much more, however, that goes on for those who have a dream and follow that dream; people who rise to the top of the game have much in common. Find out what makes them different to give you an idea of how to be a successful entrepreneur. Those who are successful in business or in developing a business do have brain activities that provide clues to what makes them matchless.
Secrets
Highly successful entrepreneurs think differently than most of the population. They optimize what they know and are expert at using their brains. Use their tools and tricks that help you optimize your brain power. This power is a way of thinking that provides you with intelligence and changeability as you work toward the end of your dream.
1. Successful entrepreneurs have a talent for recognizing opportunities. They look for paths and situations that others have not tried. Find projects that will enhance what you work at; meet influential people and get creative. Many paths lead you to your destination.
2. Take an inventory of what you can do. Assess your weakness, your strengths and determine what your skills are. Be objective. Identify what you can master. Let your pride down and take constructive criticism.
3. Find a goal and work without distraction. Think, execute, and be flexible. Do write down your priorities. Move them around as necessary. You do not have to do everything that comes into your path. Learn to delegate and positively have an end in sight.
4. Think outside the box, move out of your comfort zone, flex and stretch to be successful. Do know how much you can handle and move just a bit beyond that. Avoid going crazy with ideas. Find risks that make you uncomfortable but provide you with a feeling of anticipation. Successful entrepreneurs suggest that you find your optimum level and step beyond. Take risks.
5. Do work toward your goals. You will always face setbacks and success may seem to be just too far away. But the drive toward success is persistent. Avoid being demanding on yourself or others. Just do. Successful suggestions include keeping the end goal in the back of your mind, but keep building toward that goal on a daily basis. Enjoy the progress you make and celebrate each step of the way. Do make sure that you enjoy the pursuit. It does take time to build up a successful entrepreneurship, but once you have reached the goal, your success will be ultimate.
Secrets to success means setting huge goals; goals that are really scary when you think about them. Believe you will get there. Read, research, study and pick the brains of those who have been successful. Be resilient. You will fail at times, but with failure comes additional successes. Bounce back and don't let setbacks cause you heartburn. Probably the best piece of advice from an entrepreneur? Make your own "job"; never "want a job."
