Social Dynamics: A Tool To Success

There is a thin line between success and failure; it is possible to fall from success into failure. This thin line is easy to cross over without realizing it. Becoming successful is not always the difficult part, but remaining a success is where the difficulty lies. An understanding of social dynamics will go a long way in ensuring that you do not cross over from success to failure.
Social dynamics helps to determine the right time to show enthusiasm, the right person to show it to, the right place and the right way to express it. An understanding of these dynamics will help in ventures where it is difficult to predict success or failure - ventures like business and politics.
Authors, directors, and artist all need to understand social understanding in order to define their products and become very successful. Social dynamics does not come handy only in business, but can be a very important tool in making a relationship work out. Work relationships or personal relationship, the right use of social dynamics will make a difference.
Even among those that are involved in sports, social dynamics helps to achieve success. When training together in a group, the athletes will have to interact with other members of the group. One has to interact with the other members of the group. In the group one should know when to speak, when not to speak and when one does not want to be spoken to. One should know how to interact with all members and when someone does not want to be spoken to.
With the right application of social dynamics one gets to be a member of the group in totality. Without been the group leader one can become a pivot for the group; a person that others can look up to. What are the social dynamics of training in a group? Does it produce a better result for the athlete than when he or she trains all by himself/ herself? The truth is that the more the number the better the result. It is also true that working in a group also has the probability of making a person feel inadequate and stupid; especially if there are individuals in the group that looks down on one.
Humans are social creatures, we tend to seek what we make us feel complete. No man can exist in isolation. We get to be more comfortable when we work with faces that are familiar. The chances of being positively influence by a group is higher than those of being negatively influence. Create room for competition which is a tool necessary to succeed. However, if you are the best in the group, you realize that you will not grow. It is best that you work with those that are better than you, this give you room to grow. The social dynamics of working in or with a group is not simple. In order to get the best results, one will be require to blend with the right individuals in the group. Forming cliques which is sometimes common in groups should be avoided has they cause more damage than good within a group.

Why You Should Become Motivated to Be a Success

Success is something that everyone wants, but not everyone is willing to go after. It is easy to talk about being a success when you are sitting on your sofa, but quite another thing altogether when you are actually out in the real world and trying to make it happen. We all want success in our lives. We all want our dreams to become a reality. To make these things happen, you must be motivated to put in the work and to go out and realize your dreams. These people were just like you and wanted to make a difference in their lives.
Motivation is not about simply talking yourself into doing what it takes to be a success. It is an ongoing approach in your life that needs to be mastered on a daily basis. Success is not something that you just achieve and then walk away from - not if you want true success. Success is an ongoing process that must be renewed each morning that you get out of bed.
To become motivated, you need to first learn what motivates you. What motivates or drives one person may not work on another. By finding your driving force, you can make sure that you are surrounded by people, things and circumstances that will foster that drive and help you to make it happen.
Once you have found what drives and motivates you, you need to sleep, eat and breathe it. It needs to become such a part of your every waking moment that you are able to embrace it like never before. This will allow you to find success faster than in any other method. Your success and your dreams should be the first thing on your mind when you wake up and the last thing before you go to bed at night. This is what will bring you the success that you seek.
To find success, you simply need to stop settling for the mundane and reach out for something new. It is your time and your day to make it happen.

Achieve Your Goals to Live Your Dream

One of the sure ways to ensure success in life is to achieve your goals to live your dream. Measuring ones' success comes from a personal perspective. Some people measure life success by their financial status. Some people measure life success by having a healthy, peaceful family. Some people measure life success by having the career they desire. No matter what success looks like to the individual, it is attainable through the process of achieving goals.
A dream or vision for your life comes when there is a desire for your personal or professional life to look differently than it is at that moment. Usually when a person has a dream for their life, there is a gap between where they are now and where they want to be. The dream allows you to see the ending that you desire, such as a six-figure income, a family sitting at the dinner table eating together and laughing or a career that allows you to network with like-minded people and supports ideal vacations. Then it is up to the individual to do what they have to do to make sure that dream becomes a reality. This is where achieving goals play a key part.
Achieving goals in life and becoming successful, does not happen overnight. I believe you should set time aside to dream about what you want. Then the ideas you come up with have to be arranged in a simple systematic order. It takes planning and strategic implementation. It also takes commitment. I choose the word commitment over discipline because commitment denotes something you want to do where discipline can denote something you have to do. It takes patience because on this journey there are no straight roads to "get there." The road on a life of living your dream has ups, downs, curves, pauses, yields, cautions and stop signs. It is also necessary to have a mind that is made up to hang in there through each "road sign" that may be experienced.
In order to achieve your goals, first you have to set some. When setting goals, it is important to make sure each objective is moving toward the dream. Some of the goals can be small do-able steps and others will cause you to stretch beyond your comfort zone. Also your goals must be attainable.
Let's take a look at a goal with small do-able steps. If you want a career that appeals to you that when you work, it doesn't feel like work at all, then the first do-able step is to decide which career will best suit you. Then you get the education or pursue the connections which will take you in that direction. Now say for instance the career you want is flourishing more in another state which is seven hundred miles away, then a move maybe necessary. If you have only lived in your current state then this move will be a stretch beyond your comfort zone. When looking at both objectives, they are attainable. All of this must be done to move you closer to achieving your goals to live your dream.

Setting Your Mind Free For Success

Setting your mind free allows your in-built success mechanism to take over and take you along the road that leads to the fulfillment of your goals. Achieving this is far less difficult that you might imagine.
The essential preparation
I am assuming that you have determined what your goals are and have written them down in great detail, in the present tense and are reading them every single day. You accept that your self image is something created mainly by the comments of others, positive and negative, throughout your entire life and have become so deeply embedded in your subconscious that they make up your image of yourself.
Self image
You, like most of us, live by the restrictions that your self image imposes on you. This means that the negative aspects of your self image can be preventing you from reaching your goals. You have, to some degree, become your own worst enemy!
You might not be even be prepared to admit it but there are aspects of your personality that you have come to accept as undeniable fact. Persons in authority, parents, teachers, friends, employers and relatives may have expressed the opinion that you are not great at sports. You attempt to play a sport and, on that occasion, you don't do too well. Now the negative comments are reinforced and your belief in your lack of athleticism has become even more deeply etched into your subconscious.
I guarantee that there is at least one subject at school that you did not enjoy, which may well have been as a result of a teacher that you just didn't connect with, and yet, later in life, you discovered that you could understand it and even enjoy it.
So how do you go about setting your mind free?
Reading, if only half an hour a day, the right books is essential. I cannot, in this article, do justice to the entire process but I can recommend what is, in my opinion, the best book on the subject. It is 'The New Psycho-Cybernetics' by Maxwell Maltz, truly life changing content. You will learn that you are not the sum of your past mistakes and that you can change your self image for the better in less time than you perhaps think is possible.
You should also listen to audio or video presentations that will help to reinforce Maltz's ideas. The master of this is Bob Proctor.
I promise you that by combining the above you will become aware of a change in yourself in as little as thirty days. As you change, the world and it's impact on you, also seems to alter for the better.
You move forward
Having freed up your mind from the luggage it has been dragging around for decades, your subconscious, acting on the information regarding your goals that you have burned into it, will work out a plan to enable you to achieve the success you crave. You should never attempt to consciously work out how to realize your dreams, your subconscious will do that for you, but instead keep your goals forever in the forefront of your mind and focus on visualizing your new life.
I speak from personal experience when I say that the techniques that I have outlined above, properly and diligently applied, can make a difference to your health, wealth and happiness that today you may find difficult to believe.
Set you mind free and stride with new confidence along the path that leads to the successful realization of even your wildest dreams.

Providing Value Is Key To Success

Stop thinking and/ or fixating about making money or becoming successful! Instead, emphasize and focus on a combination of your most essential values, as well as providing others in a true and valuable manner. The reality is that if you do that, the rest will take care of itself. In order to do so, you must examine what you consider value to be. In the case of others, it means that your focus needs to be on their needs, wants and perspectives. On a more personal level, your values relate to the code that you live your life by, including your personal integrity, willingness to be empathetic, and desire to change both yourself for the better, and others in a more relevant and sustainable manner. In the vast majority of circumstances, by prioritizing the quality of our priorities and behavior, we can then do far more to improve the world and relate to needs. When we behave in this positive manner, we invariably attract others, and a life of positive inclusion more often leads to true and meaningful success.
1. Have you ever taken the time and effort to internally examine your motivations, actions, mindset, behavior and true feelings? Most of us spend so much time and energy trying to please others, or strive to achieve certain goals or aspirations, that we rarely take the time or energy to even consider the concept of our personal values. Is it all about you in a positive manner, or on the contrary, do you make that a negative? The positive perspective is that you should be propelled forward, feel better about yourself, develop a greater degree of personal belief, have higher and better quality aspirations, etc., when your internal drive and perspective focuses on being true to yourself and your ideals. In other words, what kind of person are you really, rather than merely the persona you attempt to project to others. When the persona you project is in conflict with the real you, how can you possibly feel good about yourself?
2. When others review the highlights of your life, will they feel honored and privileged to have you cross their path, or will they merely focus on your physical possessions, financial assets, etc? No one is a true success unless he realistically can say to himself that his life served the greater good, providing value and direction, that improved the lot of others, or in other words, served the greater good.
Rather than concerning oneself with becoming or being successful, it would be far better to first examine our true and personal values, and then focus on how we provide value to others. Then, success, will take care of itself!

Do I Have to Be Perfect to Be Successful?

Sometimes people wonder if they have to be perfect in order to be successful. Many of us carry with us a secret insecure side of us with painful scars from our past experiences. We 'fake it until we make it', so to speak, and just hope that nobody notices or ever sees us for who we really are.
The question is, who are you really? Are you your strengths and dreams; or are you your weaknesses and scars? I believe we are an extension of God energy, and only when we forget that fact, do we internalize negative experiences and make them part of us. Those are NOT who we are. Those are just things that happen in our around us. Things that we don't like, that do not make us feel happy. That is actually a good thing.
WHY? Because they show us vividly what we do not want. Only when we identify what does not feel good and what we do not want, can we begin for focus more strongly on what we DO want. In other words, you can't taste the sweet unless you've tasted the sour. What if we interpreted negative experiences (whether we feel they are our fault or not), as KEY indicators of what we do not want. Negative experiences are almost like a yellow traffic light saying slow down, pay attention, and don't keep moving in this direction. TURN to the left or right, but do not keep going forward in this direction.
I love the idea that our hurtful or painful experiences are here specifically to teach us, through our FEELINGS, about what we do not want. Only through feeling the negative can we say, NO, I don't like this or want this. I'm going to move in a different direction. I chose a new direction that feels good to me that leads me to a wonderful place full of health, wealth, and beautiful relationships. My past pain is not going to be my future, just because it feels familiar to me. That is NOT me.
That is something liberating. Talk about making lemonade out of lemons! Were you abandoned, neglected, or abused in your childhood? Did you like it? NO! Flashing yellow light! Now you know you will be double focused on being a devoted, loving, present parent that teaches your child a new way of living. Your children will grow up happy, secure, with their needs met. If you never say "NO, that wasn't right. I don't like that," then you will most likely repeat the painful pattern. Being a loving parent is your destiny. That's who you are!
Did you grow up without much money or stability? Good! Now you take very seriously the importance of working, of developing your skills, and living in abundance. Nothing will stop you or deter you from achieving your goals because you have been at the bottom and did not like it. So you are committed to being at the top! Living in abundance is your destiny. Thats' who you are!
Did you believe you had to be perfect to be successful? Did you learn through experience to get approval from others through your performance or attempted perfection? Were you afraid to let others down or lose their love and approval if you made a mistake? That hurts. And it is a prison of achievement with an insatiable monster eating up every accomplishment you dish up before you can even catch your breath and celebrate. Believe it or not, that's good too! Now you know that you can accomplish great things which drove you to success. But you now realize it takes the joy out of the accomplishment if you do it for someone else. It doesn't feel good when you say "tada," and wait for someone else to say great job. That's not you. That's the child in you.
Your destiny is to achieve your goals because you want to experience the joy of accomplishing them. Your destiny is to pursue your dreams so that your own adult life experience can be better with those results in it. Your destiny is to love, laugh, achieve, believe, and live each day for the joy of experiencing whatever it is that you want... just because you want it. If no one ever acknowledges anything you are doing, that's OK as long as you are feeling joy in the journey of it. It could be joy in the work or joy in the money you earn from it and what you can purchase afterwards. It doesn't matter.
Whatever and wherever your joy is, that's your destiny. That's who you are. And only you can define yourself by that and not let your negative 'guiding' experiences define you. They are just the yellow traffic lights telling you to move in another direction. Your life is the only place you get to be you, so enjoy it! And let the rest go.

Clear Thinking - Are You Doing It Wrong?

'Clear thinking requires courage rather than intelligence' - Thomas Szasz
When was the last time you were reading a book and after finishing a page had absolutely no idea what you were reading about? Since we juggle so much in today's lifestyle, multitasking our way through each day, that our ability to concentrate and hence think clearly has drastically reduced.
We now live in an era where most of us have the 'YouTube Attention Span', where a 10 minutes-long video makes us go "What 10 minutes!" And the direct influence is on our ability to think, simply because the more alert and observant your mind is the clearer your thoughts are going to be.
Why is clear thinking so important anyway?
Humans do not just live by instinct, our ability to think rationally and make decisions based on our perception is what differentiates us from animals. Clear thinking is important in everything we do. It is the very basis on which our life depends, if you think clearly, you can easily perceive problems and devise solutions to tackle them. Additionally, you are in much better position to make important life decisions pertaining to health, career, relationships, and your overall being.
Only a mind that can think clearly and critically can succeed. See, it is no rocket science, success isn't accidental; it is actually the result of hard work and decisions made at the right time. A clear thinker will possess the right frame of mine to be able to take decisions that favors them and make them successful simply because there is no doubt or guesswork involved. They know what they are doing and they are mostly aware of the consequences too.
At this juncture, you may ask 'Is the ability to think clearly in-born or it can be acquired?'
Like all abilities, the habit of thinking clearly can be developed with the right technique and practice. It is more of a skill that helps us to gain knowledge, sharpen perception, and take the right decisions. Before I talk about how you can become a clear thinker yourself, here's a little more information on what exactly is clear thinking.
Clear thinking isn't just about being able to take a decision in an instant, it basically is a logical analysis of events and ideas that includes taking into consideration hypothesis, evaluation of the consequences, the pros and cons and the ability to judge the final decision to be correct or not.
Please don't think that clear thinking is some magic tool that helps to take the right decision at the click of a finger. It takes time and effort to get into the habit of clear thinking, for the first few times you might feel taxed but with time it would become more of a natural habit.
How do you become a clear thinker?
The change does not come overnight, and admittedly, there were times when I wanted to give up too but hold on, I promise the reward is going to be amazing!
To start with, I tried to first clean the physical mess around me. I cleaned up my work desk first thing, noticed how when you have a cluttered desk you feel all the more stressed and overworked?
Write down about the most important areas of your life- be it health, relationship, success, attitude, or even a hobby. Now beside each area write down what your beliefs are with regards to the particular area, your fears, your strength, your weaknesses, and how do you perceive this area of your life would be tomorrow?
Once you have the points written down, deal with one area at once. Take your time to carefully scrutinize each point in detail, is that belief of yours justified, is it correct, what about your weaknesses, can you work on them and if yes, are you ready to work on them. This is going to be lengthy, take your time, in fact take as long as you want but once you are completely done with an area you should be thoroughly satisfied.
I felt that the biggest deterrent to clear thinking is the various random thoughts that cloud your judgment. Once you reach self-awareness, you know who you are and how you react, it then becomes fairly easy to think clearly and critically.
Another important step is to meditate regularly. I sit in meditation for almost an hour on regular basis to purge my mind of negative as well as irrelevant thoughts. A calm and placid mind can observe and perceive better rather than a 'charged' up one.
Always remember 'Clear thinking requires courage rather than intelligence' - Thomas Szasz
What are the problems you have faced while trying to think clearly or how different your life would have been if you would have taken certain decisions after clearly and critically thinking it out?

Why Needing Money Is Necessary For Conscious Development

Many people hate money because our life is controlled by it. That is valid and true, but for every negative there is a positive, and the positive side of being controlled by money is what I would like to discuss.
The most important part of achieving a happy life is eliminating all negative emotions. The complete eradication of negative feelings may be impossible, but a significant reduction is still pretty good and very realistic.
Money is a big part of our life, in fact, it is the core of everything in our world. Even if you think you can live in nature and not need money, think of all the things you have that did cost money, even your clothes. So even in nature, to survive the elements, you need many things that require money.
When we see real poverty it makes us feel that money is a terrible thing that causes greed and all sorts of abuses. All true, but regardless of this, let's look at how money can be useful to our personal, spiritual as well as material growth.
Doing things that we do not like are hard to do. In these times, we need a motivator. Without motivation, many people would not put in any effort to improve themselves, and so being lazy by nature, nature had to find a way to get us to work.
The kaballah says that God created this system so that we would be forced to work and challenge ourselves so we would serve the purpose of His creation, which is to perfect our being.
Suffering is a great motivator. Life is suffering, suffering is caused by desires, or as we discussed in the previous article; Not Only Desires, But Obligations, Cause Suffering, it is our obligations to things that require money which is a deeper cause of suffering through resentment.
The purpose of life is evolution. I am not speaking of Darwinian views, but in a way it is. We may not need to evolve physically, but we certainly do need to evolve intellectually and emotionally, even if you do not believe in spirituality. In order to make more money, and enough that we can cover all our obligations, we need to improve our skills and knowledge.
That takes work, effort and sacrifice, things we often would not do unless we absolutely have to. If we suffer enough, and have found the root cause and ultimate source of suffering, at least on the human level, the feasible possibility of ending suffering is a great motivator to improve ourselves.
If you look at life in this way, you may find a big change in your attitude;
  • Life is suffering.
  • Suffering is caused by a lack of money.
  • More money comes with more skills.
  • Acquiring skills takes effort and sacrifice.
  • Putting in effort, making sacrifices and acquiring more skills and knowledge strengthens your mind and will power.
  • A stronger mind is an advancement and growth of your being.
  • As more individuals in the species improve themselves, the whole species improves with each generation as the children surpass their parents and then become parents themselves.
  • Eventually, humanity may actually be a species worthy of respect.
Instead of resenting money and work and the way life is, open your mind to a bigger picture than your little life. Each of us is a part of the species of humanity, we are not isolated individuals.
Play a part in the progress of the species, cultivate yourself and become something more tomorrow than you are today. This helps the species, the planet, and your own life, all at the same time.

Sticktoitivity: Lessons Learned!

Walt Disney coined a special phrase for persistence and determination; he referred to it as sticktoitivity. I reflected upon this recently, because I stumbled across 20 old business cards from previous business ventures and jobs I had been associated with over the last twenty-five years. Those old business cards certainly brought back a museum full of memories and mixed feelings. I had forgotten about some of those jobs that shaped my outlook as I pushed onward and upward. As I look back on all of those opportunities with the benefit of perspective and age, the one benefit I have derived is my own personal understanding of the concept of success and failure.
The majority of people are so petrified of failure that they paralyze themselves into inaction. The Japanese have a fascinating way of looking at success, ..."Fall seven times; stand up eight." A wonderful tribute to sticktoitivity! I have framed this statement for my office because it provides a fitting summary of the most important ingredient to succeed. Perseverance and Commitment.
Life constantly tests us for our level of commitment. As simple as this may sound it is the one ingredient that separates the winners from the losers. The one skill that winners acquire is an understanding that growth is only possible if you have the courage to change what you have been doing, if it is not achieving the result you desire. Sometimes success is learning how to fall and recognizing that from that fall you will learn to grow. And growth is what a fulfilling life is all about.
When I worked as an investment broker many years ago I found that the most successful traders I worked with often lost on 90% of their trades. Yet in spite of this terrible win/loss percentage their investments were incredibly lucrative. Might it be that they knew something about success that the rest of us only pay lip service to? The one comment that I recall these superstars reiterating was that it's not how much you make when you are right but rather how little you lose when you are wrong. Imagine losing on 90% of your trades and still being wildly successful. Imagine if you can, a perspective that says you will be wrong 90% of the time but if you push through you will be wildly successful. That is a fitting example of sticktoitivity!
My best teachers have been my failures. My failures taught me that I was so petrified of failure that unfortunately failure became my focus. Not experiencing failure is quite different than experiencing success. My focus for years was on not experiencing failure.... although I would've argued differently!
The most important lessons that I have learned from successful colleagues are that the road to success is often a path of experiments and tests. If someone is more successful than I am, the only reason this is so is because they have experimented with how to accomplish the objective they desire more often than I have. The inverse is also true, that those who are not successful have been too scared to experiment. My question is, where do you fit in this equation? What experiments have you been holding back on because of fear? How are you going to break the mold and reach your potential?
A good friend of mine has a business that he has worked diligently on for over five years. He knows that his business has the potential to increase sales tenfold. However to do so, he also knows that he has to probably break the mold that got him where he is today, and create a different blueprint. While many would envy his current success, try to imagine the courage it takes to step into the unknown to pursue a level of growth dictated only by the intention that you know it is doable. This is a committed philosophy of perseverance. Sticktoitivity!
Basketball legend Michael Jordan stated it this way in one of his shoe advertisements: "I've missed more than nine thousand shots in my career. I've lost almost three hundred games. Twenty-six times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life, and that is why I succeed." A fitting tribute to tribute to persistence. Sticktoitivity!
The one thing I can guarantee is that LIFE will test your resolve and commitment. It's the way the universe works. Here are some examples of famous setbacks that demonstrated that they understood "sticktoitivity."
· Decca Records rejected the Beatles claiming they didn't like their sound and guitar music was on the way out.
· Fred Smith the founder of Federal Express received a grade of C on his senior thesis outlining the concept for Federal Express. The professor claimed the idea was not feasible.
· When Thomas Edison was a boy his teacher told him he was too stupid to learn anything.
· F.W. Woolworth got a job in a dry goods store when he was 21, but his employer would not let him wait on customers because he "didn't have enough good sense."
· Western Union rejected the telephone when Alexander Graham Bell offered them the rights of manufacture and distribution. They considered the technology as having too many shortcomings.
· Dr. Seuss was rejected by numerous publishers who claimed that verse and fantasy would not sell.
· A newspaper editor fired Walt Disney because he had no good ideas.
· Winston Churchill failed the 6th grade.
· Steven Spielberg dropped out of high school his sophomore year. He was persuaded to come back and placed in a learning disabled class. He lasted a month a dropped out of school forever.
· Albert Einstein had such poor grades in school that his teacher asked him to quit telling him that "he would never amount to anything."
..."Fall seven times; stand up eight."
Have you ever defined "success" or "failure" on your own terms? I highly recommend doing so. It certainly creates a sense of understanding, focus and purpose in your life. Sometimes success is learning how to fail. Sometimes success is overcoming the obstacles that define failure. Sometimes all you need to succeed is sticktoitivity. The only failure is not learning anything from the experience.
Here's to you standing up on the eighth time!
Sticktoitivity!

Creating A Life You Love

Imagine that right now, right here, today... there is within your grasp not one but several opportunities to redesign specific aspects of your life so that the sum total is a life you absolutely love. Then imagine that the only thing standing between you and your opportunities is a closed mind, fear, habits, concern, worry, drama, or perhaps mental, physical, and emotional clutter. Do you know what a default is? It's what you get when you don't choose to get something else and for most of us a default life is average and mediocre with sprinkles of joy in between. A default life is living for the weekend. A default like is hanging on 'til retirement. A default life is waiting for the kids to grow up, move out, and finish college. A default life is waiting, and waiting, and waiting for things to get better someday...one day.
Most people don't accidentally have a great life, a great job, a great marriage, a great body, or great children. I don't know about you but I am not touched, moved, or inspired by mediocrity. I don't aspire to live an average life, with an average job, and celebrate twenty-something anniversaries in an average marriage. My spirit longs for relationships and experiences that cause me to love deeply, grow profoundly, and see the magnificence in all of life. I can't have that kind of life if I am settling for the default. My name is Robin Harris and I am a coach, an author, a certified Highlands Natural Abilities Consultant, and I am the CEO of Designer-Life, a transformational business dedicated to helping individuals live by design; not by default. And today I just want to talk to you about designing a life you absolutely love. I call it the Designer-Life.
What's a Designer-Life? Think of a piece of art that is not only beautiful but extremely functional. Just like a beautiful warm and cozy home provides sanctuary and focus for a family, a Designer-Life provides sanctuary and focus for the soul. Just like each room in that house has its own motif and purpose, each area of the Designer-Life has its own motif and purpose. Just like all of the rooms together, even the hallways and pantry make up the house, all of the areas of our lives make up the Designer-Life. A Designer-Life has been lovingly designed and architected to honor your best and your highest good and it includes spiritual hallways and pantries, too. Mmm, it sounds wonderful, doesn't it?
I want you to consider a show home that has never been lived in. Everything is just so beautifully pristine and sterile. That's because it's for show but when the family moves in they bring their energy, their style, their nuances, their touch and the house becomes a home. It's not perfect...but it is. It's not immaculate buts it's naturally inviting. The Designer-Life is a life you design that is natural, expanding, and very, very inviting not only to you but to other sojourners, also. We have so long been looking to the system, the companies we work for, the businesses we have built, the country we live in to sustain our way of life. Today is a new day, and the comfort of what we knew has passed away, it's time to excavate, renovate, and develop our most precious resources: our soul's dreams, our natural gifts, and our talents. It's time for us to evolve to the next level and some sojourners are going to go kicking and screaming, and some won't go at all. You probably thought the creation was completed millions of years ago, oh no. Human's are still in process and every so often life says "hold on, wait a minute, it's time to shift and leap baby". You can plod along for only so long before life demands that you run fast or get eaten. The new paradigm is not for survivors, it's for thrivers; people who are ready to unleash their potential into the world.
You see, the magnificent being that you are is not your doing. You didn't design it, you didn't create it, so there no reason to be arrogant about it. It's a gift. Don't just say thank you. Gratitude is only the beginning, there's also a measure of responsibility and accountability that fall on the shoulders of the gifted. And we all are gifted. It is our responsibility to nurture our magnificence, to develop it, and express it profoundly in the world that we live in. Your magnificence is not only going to give you a life you love, it's going to touch, move and inspire others. Divine intention will have your be great in ways you cannot even imagine. Divine intention will have your biggest mistakes sow seeds of wisdom and contribution to other. Divine intention will have you become the student and the teacher in life's next evolution. The next evolution will have human beings manifest the Creator's abundant, loving, creative nature.
What would it look like to have a life you absolutely love? When you really think about it, I mean see it with your minds eye, in living Technicolor, it should be so awesome it sends chills up your spine. I'm not talking about a superficial life where people are pretending to be happy, pretending that the marriage is working, pretending that the kids aren't driving them crazy, pretending that life is in order when chaos is actually the king. I'm not talking about having more, more, more while feeling less, less, less. I'm talking about a life where your soul is satisfied. This is a life where you have peace of mind, finances in order, and a healthy mind, body, and spirit. This is a life with relationships that inspire and stimulate you, intimacy that heals and thrills you, and family and community for mutual love and support. This is a life complete with meaningful and fulfilling work that uses your gifts and talents and honors your uniqueness. This is a life where there is adequate time for self-nourishment, self-investment, fun and relaxation. And... this is a life where you receive an abundance of joy by contributing to the well being of others who are on the planet with you now, as well as those who will be coming in the future.
I can't tell you the details of your Designer-Life. I can't tell you how living a life you absolutely love will show up for you. I only know that the process of designing that kind of life will rock your world. I know somebody out there is saying, pfff you must be dreaming... and my response is "yes, and your point is..."
You see if it were left up to the practical people, the realists of the world, we'd still be huddled in a cold cave without a fire to warm us. I'm not just a dreamer, oh no: I'm a possibility chick with a plan. You see a designer life is not just about dreaming about it, thinking about it, longing for it, hoping for it, praying for it. A Designer-Life is about intention; the kind of intention that produces action, the kind of action that produces results.
The road less traveled is full of uncertainty, but the other road, the popular one can only take you where you've already been. Having an extraordinary life, a life you absolutely love is gonna seem like way too much work to the average person. It's not going to appeal to the person courting mediocrity. It's not going to excite the person who is content with waiting for some day, one day. It doesn't call to the practical or the realist. So if you fall into one of these categories, cover your ears cause this message isn't for you. I'm talking to the people who caught a glimpse of possibility for their own life, for the sojourners who are ready to unleash their potential out in the real world, and for the people who can't stand the thought of settling for the default life.
The message I want to bring to you is simple. Your most challenging obstacle is not the present or past circumstances of your life, the things you did or didn't do, it's not your age, your gender, your race, it's not the naysayers or critics or the practical realist who are convinced your dreams and aspirations are a waste of time, oh these are all challenges to be dealt with on their own terms but by far the biggest challenge you will face is your own self doubt, lack of commitment, and fear. Getting over yourself is the single most forwarding action you can take to move toward your own magnificence. I want to ask you for a huge favor and here it is...Get over yourself and just be magnificent.
